With our mandate to support the global anaerobic digestion industry we source a wide array of feedstocks suitable for use in AD facilities. We also offtake a significant quantity of compost and digestate from multiple companies. As a matter of pride we constantly review these products to ensure that a quality threshold is maintained. This way, the product we tell our customers about, is the product we deliver to our customers.

Grains & Oilseeds

At New AD we procure thousands of tons of grains & oilseeds on a regular basis and are constantly in the market for more. What we primarily look for is the damaged, distressed and produce that traditionally would be considered unfit for both animal and human consumption. However, if the price and quantity is right, we are also able to source and procure milling grade produce or any other crop for example. Our primary focus on the lower grade produce is due to the intended end user, because we supply the anaerobic digestion industry, there is no need for the produce to meet the specifications necessary for entry into the human food-chain.

Miscellaneous Feedstocks

Our team has a large array of contacts throughout multiple industries that produce waste products that would be suitable for use as feedstocks in the anaerobic digestion industry. These include farm waste products such as poultry litter, organic and municipal waste from the waste management industry and food waste from the food maufacturing industries. Organic Biofertilizer

Our organic biofertilizer, in the form of digestate, is a by-product of the anaerobic digestion process and is a useful source of nutrients which can be applied to land as a biofertilizer or in combination with other organic materials to improve soil quality. "Natural organic" or "slow release" fertilizers provide nutrients in small amounts over an extended period of time-just the way your plants need them.

Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P) and Potassium (K) are three major nutrients important for the growth of healthy plants. Any kind of plant food (fertilizer) needs to have a healthy balance of nutrients, however, trees and shrubs do not need added P or K in our soils only Nitrogen. Nitrogen promotes growth in plant leaves and stems, Phosphorous is vital for seed germination, strong root systems, disease resistance and flower and fruit formation, whereas, Potassium helps plants form sugars, starches, carbohydrates and proteins. Additionally Potassium also helps fortify plants' imune systems, strengthen stems, protect against the cold, preserve water and encourages fruit ripening.

Nutritional Benefits

Digestate has a high nutrient content which makes this material valuable to the farming community for plant growth. Macro elements such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium are present in large quantities in digestate, it also has the added benefits of containing other components which are vital to plant growth and development such as Calcium, Sulphur, Magnesium and a host of important trace elements.


All our digestate is accredited under the BSI PAS 110 system and is assessed on three criteria, chemical, biological and physical characteristics. These criteria have been selected for assessment to ensure only good can come from the application of digestate to land under the PAS 110 system. Compliance to this standard is our control to ensure we always maintain a high standard of production and transparency.

Solubility In Water

Groundwater contamination with nitrates is a major concern, and the more water soluble a fertilizer, the more damage it can do to drinking water. Since organic fertilizers generally contain lower concentrations and release nutrients at a slower rate compared to synthetic fertilizers, organic fertilizers offer a healthier alternative to chemical fertilizers.

Turf Protection

Digestate has a significant effect on the rate of grass establishment compared to control plots in tests, on plots where digestate was applied the grass colour, coverage and chlorophyll reflectance were similar to that of a traditional mineral fertilizer. These tests have demonstrated nutritional benefits that can be derived from applying liquid fraction digestate when establishing turf both in a domestic setting and professional setting such as a golf course or other sports use.

Organic Compost

Rich peat free compost, perfect for tree and shrub planting, flowerbeds and vegetable beds. Our Compost is ideal for long term soil improvement in vegetable patches, landscaping applications and also can be left on the surface as a mulch to protect from heat extremes.
Product Description

Green field sites may well have been uncultivated for a number of years, which can result in a poor soil structure, lacking in nutrients and with poor aeration and drainage. Our compost can be placed around your shrubs and plants as a mulch, its dark colour will absorb the suns rays warming and retaining heat in the early spring. It can also act as a protective layer shielding your plants and shrub roots from direct sunlight, the layer also provides cover, reducing moisture loss and encourages worms to pull the compost down into the soil during the summer months.


Dressing your lawn with compost helps young grass take root and can make your garden healthier and greener. First, you will need to sieve the compost and remove any large twigs or any other items that have not quite broken down. Next, mix it with an even amount of sharp sand to compost as this will allow it to spread more easily. You will need a layer of about 2.5cm. Mature lawns can really benefit from this little extra kick of nutrients, but be aware that newly seeded or turfed lawns can be scorched by it.


Depending on the type of soil, e.g. heavy clay or light sandy soils, drainage may be required or moisture retention improved. The introduction of compost through digging in or rotavating will invigorate the soil. Aeration will together with the compost provide an environment for the micro-organisms to provide plant nutrients. The end result is a living breathing soil ready to produce vegetables or a new home for your plants and shrubs.


Using your compost as mulch is a great idea. By using ‘rough’ compost (where not everything has completely broken down) over flowerbeds and around shrubs, helps prevent soil erosion and will replenish much needed nutrients. A layer of 5cm should do the trick. Make sure that you leave a gap around any soft stemmed plants. Adding mulch after it has rained will help keep the moisture in the soil.

Pots & Containers

Give your potted plants and containers an extra boost by removing the top few centimetres of existing soil and adding your freshly made compost. Leave a gap around soft stemmed plants. This will provide food for your plants and flowers and is a great way to make them healthier and more robust.
You can mix home compost with regular soil or leafmould to create your own healthy potting mixture for patio containers. Your plants and any new plants from seeds will enjoy the additional nutrients and minerals that your compost enriched potting mixture contains, and outdoor container plants will love it too. About a third of the mix should be compost, slightly less when you are planting seeds. The reason for this is that home made compost is too strong to use on its own for planting into.

Flowerbeds & Borders

Help your new plants and flowers bloom by digging a 10cm layer of compost into the soil prior to planting. If your flowers have already been planted, you simply need to spread a thin layer of compost-enriched soil around the base of the plants. Nutrients will work their way down to the roots and your plants will enjoy the healthy boost compost provides.
The borders of your garden will also greatly appreciate your compost. Spread up to a 5cm layer of compost over the existing soil. Worms will quickly like getting to work mixing it in for you! Otherwise, you can dig your finished compost into the soil prior to planting. It is important that you leave gaps around any soft stemmed plants.
